Serious hair game
Talks with his or her hands.
Owns several music pun items.
Office decor theme is sheet music – everywhere.
Has a calendar with nary a free weekend.
Wardrobe is made up of black, black, and more black.
Exaggerated facial expressions are the norm.
. . . as is dramatic body language.
Strong opinions on batons, podiums, and stands.
Is happiest when making music.
The author acknowledges that this list is neither exhaustive nor indicative of every conductor . . . but thinks you’ll at least relate to a few of these items. If not, just ask your students!
