Get Ahead With Discovery For Credit

WorldStrides’ exclusive Discovery for Credit program provides students the opportunity to extend and deepen the learning beyond the on-trip experience.

This supplemental course is fully accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and AdvancED (the parent organization for the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement). Students can earn one semester high school credit by completing pre- and post-trip coursework on Discovery for Credit, which can be accessed through MyTrip.

Here’s what parents are saying about Discovery for Credit:

  • “The trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. In order to enhance the trip and make it memorable, the Discovery for Credit course reinforces what was seen and heard during the trip, plus you get high school credit!”
  • “This was such a positive learning experience for Miranda. The program was packed full of history that she will have forever, and I believe she couldn’t have gotten better from school. The program impacted her academically far more because she physically saw each historical site, rather than viewing it in a textbook. The education will stick with her longer and better through this experience.”
  • “My child is a ‘hands-on’ learner. This was a terrific way for him to learn science, which he loves anyway. It was well-organized and fun and he got to go with friends. What’s not to like?”

The program provides students with the freedom to learn at their own speed, dig deeper into the subjects that interest them, and help them prepare for the future, all at the same time. The Discovery for Credit program may be started prior to taking the educational trip, but must be started and completed within six months upon return.

Students can get started with Discovery for Credit by creating a MyTrip account and clicking the blue Discovery for Credit link.
