Netherlands Volleyball Tour

Take your team abroad on our Netherlands Volleyball Tour. Arrive in Amsterdam and spend time sightseeing before attending a coaching clinic. Then, after a visit to Coster Diamondsit’s game day. Take a couple of day trips to Delft and Gelderland before your  your second international friendly game. Wrap your tour with a visit to Anne Frank’s house and a final international friendly game.

Your Adventure, Day by Day

Day 1 Depart from North America
  • Depart on an overnight flight to Amsterdam Sit back, relax, and enjoy your flight
Day 2 Welcome to The Netherlands
  • Your Adventure Begins Arrive at Amsterdam Airport where you are met by your Excel Representative

  • See Amsterdam from the Sea This evening, take a Canal Cruise and view the Royal Palace built on 13,000 piles and dominating the Dam in the heart of the city

Day 3 Coaching Clinic

  • Special Coaching Clinic Enjoy a coaching clinic with a guest coach, player or instructor. The clinic is designed exclusively for the team and to enhance skills in areas identified by the coaching staff
  • Lunch on own
  • Bike Tour of Amsterdam The bike tour will reach places which remain inaccessible to others. During the tour you will pass all the interesting spots such as the charming Jordaan Quarter, the Anne Frank House, Vondel Park, and the Red Light District
  • Koninklijk Paleis This palace was originally designed by Jacob van Campen in 1655 as the City Hall and has a solid neoclassical facade

Day 4 Game Day

  • Explore the Wonders of Rijksmuseum This museum features the largest collection of Dutch master artworks in the world. In addition to works by Rembrandt, Vermeer and Jan Steen to name a few, the museum exhibits Delftware, silverpieces and the 17th century dollhouses
  • Visit Coster Diamonds This is one of Amsterdam's oldest diamond factories. On the guided tour you will learn how diamonds are made, and view some of the finest jewelry in the world

Day 5 Training Session

  • Training Time This morning, participate in a training session at a local field
  • Enjoy an Excursion to North Holland Volendam has a long history as a fishing village and is built among a small harbor where all sorts of fish are for sale. Sights to see in Volendam include: Zaanse Schans which is a neighborhood in the Zaan region and famous for its windmills and quaint timber houses

Day 6 Excursion to Hague & Delft
  • Breakfast at hotel
  • The Hague or Den Haag Often known as the "judicial capital of the world" due to the many international courts that are located in the city. Explore the heart of the city which contains historic architecture from the medieval, renaissance, and Baroque periods
  • Enjoy a Walking Tour of Delft Wind through the historic town centre that is lined with scenic canals. Delft is primarily known for its blue pottery (Delftware) and for the painter Vermeer

Day 7 Excursion to Gelderland
  • Breakfast at hotel
  • This morning, enjoy a tour of Het Loo Palace and Estate Since 1984 it has served as the magnificent home of a museum which celebrates the history of the House of Orange. This splendid palace is now an idea setting for paintings, furniture, silver and much more

  • Game Time! This evening, play your second international friendly game against a local team
Day 8 Coaching Clinic

  • Practice Session This morning, participate in a special coaching clinic with a guest coach
  • Gouda Enjoy a walking tour of Gouda, which will be highlighted by our visit to St. Janskerk, a former Catholic church dating back to 1485. Rebuilt in the Gothic style, the church as received a number of unusual stained-glass windows
  • Dinner at hotel
Day 9 Last Game!
  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Visit the Anne Frank House Witness the place where the young Jewish girl Anne Frank had to hide during the Nazi Occupation of Holland during World War II
  • Sightseeing Time This afternoon, free time for sightseeing and shopping in Amsterdam
  • Dinner at hotel
  • Friendly Match This evening, participate in your third international friendly game vs. a local team
Day 10 Depart for North America
