Featured Conductors: Johan de Meij, Mark Armstrong, and Michael McGlynn
This exclusive festival is open to a limited number of accomplished band ensembles and choirs. Attendees will enjoy an exclusive opportunity to travel to Ireland and work with three of today’s most exciting conductor/composers: Johan de Meij, Mark Armstrong, and Michael McGlynn!
Johan de Meij is one of the world’s best known and most loved wind band composers. From his symphonies including Symphony No. 1: The Lord of the Rings to his concertos and arrangements, his music is played throughout the world.
Mark Armstrong is one of Ireland’s best known musicians and composers. He has conducted many of Ireland’s top ensembles, including the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, Irish Youth Wind ensemble, and the National Chamber Choir.
Michael McGlynn is an Irish composer, producer, director, and founder of the vocal ensemble Anúna. His choral works have been commissioned, recorded, and performed by ensembles that include the BBC Singers, Rajaton, the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, Grammy-winning ensembles Conspirare and Phoenix Chorales.
Elite bands and choirs will have the opportunity to join Johan de Meij, Mark Armstrong, and Michael McGlynn for a festival of music and education in the land that inspired many of their works.
