Meet your course leader, who will provide an overview of the program's key concepts, as well as the sites you’ll visit throughout the program.

Day 2 :
Encounter Whitewater and Wildlife
- Breakfast and Hotel check-out:
- Whitewater Adventure:
Challenge your courage and put your skills to the test as you shoot down the Tenorio River on a whitewater paddle adventure!
- Lunch:
- Wildlife Center:
Meet with a conservationist to discuss the importance of wildlife rehabilitation in a country known for its progressive environmental policies - Costa Rica is the first country in the Americas to ban recreational hunting.
- Depart for the Rincon de la Vieja National Park Area.:
- Experience Costa Rican Culture:
Be hands-on and prepare a traditional Costa Rican dish through interactive cooking lessons.
- Dinner:
Day 3 :
Waterslide, Horseback Riding, Mud Baths, and more!
- Breakfast:
- Rincón de la Vieja National Park:
Participate in a morning volunteering project in this world-famous national park.
- The Rain forest waterslide:
A refreshing experience sliding in a water slide of 1400 feet of length. An adventure filled with adrenaline and emotion.
- Lunch:
- Horseback Riding:
Enjoy a horseback ride as you discuss the impact of waterfalls on humans. Embark on a short hike to visit a waterfall before continuing on horseback to the natural spa.
- Mud Bath:
After a day of fun, nothing beats relaxing in volcanic clay from the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. After the clay dries, clean up with a cool river water shower.

Day 4 :
Canopy Tour and Cultural Experience

- Canopy Tour:
Soar though the magnificent canyon. Ziplines, climbing walls, hanging bridges, and Tarzan swings are all part of this exhilarating adventure.
- Lunch:
- El Viejo Cultural Visit:
Discover a real sugar cane mill and sample a food tasting while workers from the hacienda share their music.
- Riverboat Tour:
Take in the sights of Costa Rica’s exotic wildlife as you float in a riverboat through Palo Verde National Park. This wildlife refuge is a migratory stop for more than 60 species of birds and protects one of the most endangered ecosystems.
- Experience Costa Rican Culture:
Prepare a traditional Costa Rican Tortillas through interactive cooking lessons.
- Community Fútbol Game:
Participate in activities with the community and show your courage on the field against a local soccer team.

Day 5 :
Take Part in Coastal Studies!

- Surf Lessons:
The surf is up! Are you down? Learn to surf after discovering the science of the perfect break.
- Mock Research:
Understand the best ways to study beaches through data-gathering, and complete mock research on various natural processes that affect our ocean fronts.
- Lunch:
- Cultural Excursion:
Take a short walk through the town of Tamarindo to grab a snack or souvenir and get a taste of typical Costa Rican life!
- Beach Activity:
Understand the best ways to study beaches through observations and complete photo scavenger hunt on various natural processes that affect our ocean fronts.
- Return to Hotel:
- Farewell Dinner at a Local Costa Rican Restaurant:
Day 6 :
Depart for Home
- Breakfast and Hotel check-out:
- Depart Costa Rica for the U.S.:
