January 8, 2017 – Arrive Dubai
  • Arrive in Dubai from USA
  • Upon arrival, group is met by private coach and English-speaking assistant for transfer to hotel (bottled water provided on coach)
  • Check in hotel
  • Overnight: Dubai (1) – Sofitel Downtown Dubai
January 9, 2017 – Dubai: Business Visit 
  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Half day private coach and English speaking assistant for business visit within city limits (bottled water provided on coach)
  • Business Visit #1: Macro Economic View of Dubai; Management presentations and discussions (facility tour, if applicable) (Arranged by WorldStrides)
  • Return to hotel
  • Transfer on foot with English speaking assistant to Welcome Dinner
  • Overnight:  Dubai (2) – Sofitel Downtown Dubai
January 10, 2017 – Day trip to Abu Dhabi
  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Full day private coach and English speaking guide for business visits and city tour of Abu Dhabi outside of city limits (bottled water provided on coach) (approx. 2 hrs)
  • Business Visit #2: Oil and  Natural Gas Industry; Management presentations and discussions (facility tour, if applicable) (Arranged by WorldStrides)
  • Lunch break
  • Grand Mosque Tour: Visit Sheikh Zayed Mosque and city overview tour (entrance fees included)
  • Dinner in Abu Dhabi, stop provided
  • After dinner, return transfer to Dubai
  • Overnight: Dubai (3) – Sofitel Downtown Dubai
January 11, 2017 – Dubai: Business Visit 
  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Half day private coach and English speaking assistant for business visit within city limits (bottled water provided on coach)
  • Business Visit #3: Tourism and Travel; Management presentations and discussions (facility tour, if applicable) (Arranged by WorldStrides)
  • Return to hotel
  • Overnight:  Dubai (4) – Sofitel Downtown Dubai
January 12, 2017 – Dubai: Lehigh Arranged Activities
January 13, 2017 – Travel to Singapore
  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Check out hotel
  • Transfer by private coach and English speaking guide to airport for flight to Singapore (bottled water provided on coach) (Airfare arranged by University)

Meet the Faculty

Douglas Mahony

Department of Management
Douglas Mahony’s research interests include organizational conflict, alternative dispute resolution, participatory work systems, and social networks. His work has appeared in numerous journals including the Journal of Management, Industrial Relations, and Industrial and Labor Relations Review. Additionally, he is the co-author of Workplace Justice Without Unions. Professor Mahony is an active member of the Academy of Management and the Labor and Employment Relations Association. Prior to his appointment at Lehigh University, Mahony served on the faculty at the Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Global Human Resource Management and Labor Relations.

Charles Stevens

Department of Management
Professor Stevens joined the Lehigh faculty in 2013. Prior to coming to Lehigh, Stevens served as an assistant professor at the College of Business, University of Wyoming. He graduated from the Ohio State University with a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business. Prior to pursuing his Ph.D., he worked for the Ichimiya Corporation in Niihama, Japan. He has also been a visiting faculty fellow at Nihon University College of Economics, in Tokyo. Charlie Stevens’ research interests include global strategy, political risk, foreign entry strategies, and East Asian business and management issues. He has published papers on these topics in journals that include Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Operations Management, and Long Range Planning. He is also on the editorial review board of Journal of International Business Studies.
