WorldStrides Donates Soccer Equipment To Uganda Communities
At WorldStrides, we believe in being good stewards of the world through travel, education, and giving back to communities. Chris Hoffman, Vice President and Assistant General Manager of WorldStrides Capstone programs, and his wife, a teacher, wanted to give back to the community in Uganda where they adopted their two children from three years ago. Chris reached out to Eric McAleer, Vice President of WorldStrides Excel programs, for his help.
“My wife came up with the idea to raise money and awareness at her elementary school as to how blessed we are as Americans and what we can do as a community to give back,” Chris said. “The goal was to take donated and purchased balls, jerseys, and ball pumps to less privileged kids in Uganda. We were able to donate 75 soccer balls, 60 jerseys, and 25 ball pumps to three different villages, schools, and churches.”
Chris and his wife sent back photos from their visit to Uganda of children of all ages playing soccer and enjoying their new equipment, proving that soccer really is a universal language. See the photos below.
