Old Illinois State Capitol

The Old Illinois State Capitol, also known as Lincoln’s Capitol, is a brick building designed in the Greek Revival style. It was here where Lincoln argued most of his legal cases, and where President Obama announced his candidacy for president. Why do you think Obama chose to make his announcement in “Lincoln’s Capitol”?
