Vice President of Education

As WorldStrides’ Vice President of Education, Wendy Amato stewards the instructional content of our travel programs, informs the training of our field staff, and manages our accreditation as a school. She is committed to enriching students’ lives through experiential travel with her careful attention to curriculum and her understanding of youth development. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Virginia.

Prior to her doctoral work, she served as an administrator and teacher in a K-12 school. At the university level, she has taught courses including Curriculum and Assessment, K-12 Foreign Language Methods, and Education Across Cultures. She is a sought-after speaker at education conferences in the US and abroad. Her academic experience is paired with over 10 years of work as a youth group leader and mission trip leader.

Dr. Amato’s teams uphold the organization’s educational philosophy of Learning through Exploring and Actively Participating (“LEAP”) which is anchored in the best practices of teaching and learning.
