Wendy Amato, Ph.D.Director of Curriculum & Academics
As WorldStrides Director of Curriculum and Academics, Wendy Amato stewards the instructional content of our travel programs and manages our accreditation as a school. She is committed to enriching students’ lives through experiential travel with her careful attention to curriculum and her understanding of youth development. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Virginia.
Prior to her doctoral work, she served as an administrator and teacher in a K-12 school. At the university level, she has taught courses including Curriculum and Assessment, K-12 Foreign Language Methods, and Education Across Cultures. In addition, she is a sought-after speaker at education conferences. Her academic experience is paired with over 10 years of work as a youth group leader and mission trip leader in Honduras.
