Head of Innovation - K12
Dr. Jan Sikorsky is Head of Innovation for K12 markets at WorldStrides. He is charged with creating a pipeline of leading-edge educational experiences that help students see beyond the classroom and help them grow to become global citizens. Dr. Sikorsky has worked at a WorldStrides company for more than fifteen years; holding a number of positions including Vice President of Innovation, Vice President of Education and Director of Academics responsible for science and skills development programs. With a life calling to help individuals define their passion and direct their academic and career progression, Dr. Sikorsky has designed, developed, and delivered programs that have helped more than 200,000 students take steps forward along their career pathways. In addition to his work at WorldStrides, Dr. Sikorsky has held a number of adjunct faculty appointments including at Florida International University, where he developed and facilitated a fully online graduate level course in Forensic Biology. Dr. Sikorsky actively promotes quality teaching practices in science across the K-16 education continuum; having served on the National Science Teachers Association Committee on College Science Teaching – a committee charged with improving teaching practices of NSTA’s more than five thousand college educators. Dr. Sikorsky holds his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences and M.S. in Forensic Science from Marshall University, as well a B.S. in Medical Technology from Michigan State University.
